I've been around tractor pulling since 1964 but have never pulled anything that went down the track faster than 10 mph.I finally decided to step things up a notch or two so an old Missouri tractor is coming back home.

This tractor was formerly David Marino's old Orange Blossom Special D-17 (later 6080) AC that he pulled from the late 1970's to the early 1990's.Thats it in the top picture.In the 1990's it went to the Schwartz's at Palmyra,MO.About 8-9 years ago it went to the Mattingly family at Brandenburg,KY.They pulled it with ORVTPA in the LLSS class.

I ran a want ad on Pulloff.com and the Mattinglys called and offered their puller for sale.They changed it from a 6080 to a 180 with a Binderlite hood.I picked it up on April 15th.The middle picture was taken April 16th on the Mississippi River ferry that runs between Hickman,KY and Dorena,MO.That was one fun ride.The bottom picture was taken yesterday in my yard.At first I didnt like the lime green paint but its kind of grown on me and others that have looked at it.

Its going to be a learning experience to be pulling an alky tractor with a 3 disk slipper clutch.If the tractor stays together and my work schedule allows I hope to hook MSTPA about a dozen times in 2010.See you at the pulls.]]>
